MTB SURF EMPORIUM is located in paradise plaza in Indialantic Florida. phone(321-777-3685)

Here is a little history on MTB and how it was created..Don Mulhern(owner) was born in Chicago and moved to California very young ...Don got his first board, at 13 years old, 70 pounder, used to ride his bike all the way from Hawthorne down to the beach . Ended up meeting Dewey Weber, 17-18 years old, turned into good surf buddies, started working for Dewey in '58. Don has been in the business ever since. He ended up meeting Donald Takiyama, good surf buddies, started building boards together in South Bay; Donald shaping, Don mulhern laminating. After moving to Encinitas CA, Don Takiyama and Donald Mulhern hooked up with Garry Brumett and the rest is history, that became MTB surfboards.  One of the hottest labels of the early 70's. They couldn't build enough of them... Donald Takiyama, Donald Mulhern, and Garry decided to all do their own thing, and that's when Don Mulhern and his son Patrick Mulhern took off to Florida. Don Mulhern met Gail and got married and thats when they decided to open MTB Surf Shop in Satellite Beach in the early 70's.Donnie glassed for Catri for a little bit and then decided to open his own shop. MTB was arguably the #1 company on the east coast going into the 80's.The guys who built those boards were an incredible group of craftsmen.  Don's Son Patrick Mulhern aka "Mully" became one of the hottest Florida surfers and blowing up the east coast surf scene. One of the best to ever surf Sebastian Inlet and a legend there. He finished 14th in the world at one point and was East coast champion 4 years in a row. Now Pat Mulhern Shapes for WRV and resides in Encinitas California and is a one of the best shapers out there. You can find all his shapes in MTB. Our store stays true to the surfing world and were not corporate owned, were a family owned business and we  appreciate all the support through the years.
